Matrimonial home issue, hindhu marriage act 1955
19-Jun-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Now i am in my matrimonial home, owned by my mother in law. My husband filed contested divorce case. Do I have right to stay in my matrimonial home even after I receive the divorce petition
In principle you have the right to stay at the matrimonial home. But the property is that of your mother in law and it is her absolute property then you and your husband are permitted occupants and she has the right to ask you to leave. However, it is your husband who has the duty to arrange a matrimonial home.
