Marrying another girl on the basis of winning maintenance case

Hi, Myself is Ravi who has filed maintenance case against my wife in Shimla and I won that case as she didnt come for any hearing. Now, my lawyer said that I have to file divorce case separately. My question is will I get remarried to another girl based on maintenance case papers or do i have to wait till my divorce get finish?

You have to file separately divorce case before getting married to another case iresspective of maintenance case being decided in your favour, otherwise your wife can file criminal proceeding against you. So it is advised to file divorce case in concerned Family Court.

Winning maintenance case is not a criteria to get remarried. If u wants to marry anither girl then u would have to get divorce from ur wife and only after getting a decree of divorce and also expiry of 30 days y can remarry.

Unless you are divorced you cannot remarried. Maintenance petition is independent to a divorce proceeding. If you marry someone before getting divorces you can be convicted for bigamy. Please call for further details.
