if wife is professional qualified or working as husband or earn more then husband or same as husband it's not mandatory to pay her or its not fix that not pay. it's all about discretion power of the presiding officer. PO depend on condition or presentation front of judge.

Yes. She can still apply for maintenance under Section 125 CRPC. However the amount of maintenance can be challenged in court to be either completely denied or significantly lessened. In such cases both your wife and you will have to attach your income proof on affidavit for court to decide.
