Legal advice on False Allegations by Wife

I got a phone call from police station asking me to visit the police station to talk with circle inspector stating that my wife complained about me and my family regarding the dowry, caste abuse, harrasment and that we took gold chain of mangalasutra. Those were false allegations as I didn't took single penny of dowry, never laid hand on her etc. I don't want to visit the police station and as there was no official case or FIR filed. How to handle the situation.

You can politely decline to visit the station without a formal notice. Engage a lawyer to respond on your behalf. If no FIR is filed, you're not obligated to appear based on a phone call. Apply for anticipatory bail if needed.

It is advisable to you to visit the Police Station with a lawyer to understand the complaint and give your side calmly. If no FIR is filed yet, you can submit a written defence or representation denying her allegations. Avoid ignoring the call as it may worsen the matter. Immediately collect all the evidence showing your Innocence. Immediately consult a lawyer for further proceedings .

hi it is better to visit police station as there would be chance of aettlement or they might issue any notice to them in the matter and to appear in the matter and that they might register FIR in court afterwards

Your wife is filing 498 case against u and family seeking that you have harassed her and taken hold etc., though it’s false allegation u need to attend police station along with advocate other wise they shall take into custody or remand so definitely u should attend.

domestic violence case is filed you should go to the police station when the call you. if you are not comfortable if you take advocate with you and after speaking to you only then they will registered complaint the purpose of calling you is to check if a complaint is genuine or not or if we can council and send you without registration a complaint so you are not comfortable you can always take your advocate along with you.
