Isn't the husband to pay maintaince a compulsion till the divorce takes place. N if the husband doesn't do soo is it punishable
dear client if court passed order for maintenance then husband has to pay the same as per the direction of the court. if husband failed pay maintenance in court then you can file Application in the court for the same.

It is not always compulsory for a Husband to pay Maintenance. If your Wife is rich and can afford legal expenses, household expenses, then Court will not order you to maintain her. If you are earning less or not earning, she is liable to pay Maintenance.

Hello there!
once you file petition for divorce, there is one provision called interim maintenance. you can get maintenance under this provision during the pendency of petition. for that you will have to apply to court. Once court grants the same you are legally entitled ro receive the same. and your husband is also bound by the order of court. If he refuses to pay court may punish him.
