As you have written in your problem that you have filed a case against your in-laws in connection with dowry harassment and assault, but the police have not yet arrested them and presented them in the court, then let me tell you that the crimes in which The punishment of less than 7 years is now in them by the Supreme CourtPolice cannot arrest as per instructions and will present charge seats in the court through him, so the accused cannot be arrested

Dear Client, You should visit at Police Station without any hesitation and if Police didn't work properly then you should approach High Court for the purpose of Fair Investigation under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

on the above mentioned query please note down that the maximum punishment in the above sections are only three years alongwith fine of maximum rs. 2000/-. so, the answer of your question is police officials arrests, who commits the offences which are major (means punishment is above 5 years). thus the police officials could not arrest your in-laws. next the police officials calls you for recording of statement. so, you have to go for statement.

the offences that has been cleaned by you are in itself acute in nature the police has no authority they do not ultimately determine the truth or falsehood when allegation is made they send the charge sheet to the court and it is the court that comes to it own conclusion about the truth
