I feel my wife is aiming at a divorce for alimony
28-Aug-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I'm a working professional belonging to a Christian Family. I got married in last November. Post three months of marriage, we got to know she had Thyroid and PCOD problem from before marriage. In addition, she has artificial teeth in front. We spoke to her parents and it ended in a compromise. I started adjusting to it. Looking at our family's softness, I feel she is aiming at a divorce for alimony which I overheard her talking on phone.
I heard her saying she is going to use my drinking habit as a reason (which is only on weekends) and I have a female friend from past 5 years who is like an elder sister to me and my parents also know her very well. I heard her say the she is going to use this friendship and portray it as an affair since we talk on phone once a day but we do not meet.
I want to understand, what is the extent they can go using these two reasons through law and what is the rule for alimony in such case. She is MCom grad and not working as of now.
Please advise.
