Huge money demand in a false CAW compalint

Hello,
My wife filed a false CAW report implicating me and my mother in DV. I have provided clear evidence to the IO to counter her charges. I have agreed to return all her items (Stri-dhan). In the foruth meeting, the IO and the girl demanded and exorbitant 50 lakh for settlement. I am a middle class salaried person. I don't have that much money, plus they haven't shown a single receipt of marriage expenses.
My questions are:
1. With this high demand, the mutual settlement might fail. What will be the next step for the IO, can she register an FIR with almost no evidence of DV?
2. What should I do to counter the huge demand of 50 lakh?
In this regard, it is pertinent to state that In CAW Cell generally, people settle their disputes and evidence at this stage does not really matters. Further, when you mediation before CAW Cell settles then the same complaints get changes into an FIR by the same PS. Thereafter, the Police takes the investigation process. If you have evidences o counter then you can do so but by a representation in court thereby adducing those evidence at the time of the Trial. It is submitted that there is set strategy to fight these cases and generally people make mistakes thereby not following the same. For further clarifications, please contact at the earliest.
