A no of factors are taken into account by Presiding judge.
Some of them are ur financial, earning n lifestyle which your wife will bring to fore for getting the best of reliefs on separation.
U need to present evidence to support your reasons for divorce. If she contests , mere allegations may not get you divorce.
Maintenance is her right so u cannot avoid it unless u are able to bring her immorality by evidence

As per your query

The amount of alimony is decided taking into consideration various factors such as your income, expenditure, parents liability, your current life style and the benefit of the baby. Considering all such things alimony is decided by the court.
Take note that before filing the petition for divorce alleging your wife of having illicit relationship you need to have a solid proof for the same.
