I am an independent working lady who looks after the son and house single handle and still my husband tortures me. How can I file divorce
First of all, let me clear its quite clear that no society accepts such behaviour in today's world. If any person is behaving in such way try to get relatives involved if matter is not serious and save your family. But If its beyond limits then file complaint in local police station and file criminal application in local court under Domestic Violence Act.

In this case, you can speak to your husband and go for a Mutual Consent divorce if he is also ready for it. if he does not agree, you can go for a contested divorce and file a divorce petition in the court for cruelty.

torture is one of the grounds for divorce either mental or physical. you need to establish the torture by your husband in court like message and recording of phone calls or eye witness of the incident etc if you have this evidence then you can file the divorce petition in the court. as per me you can divorce also.
