I married in 2023.We used to live separately in a different city because of job.My mother in law took my jewelry after marriage and did n't let me come to their home after. After 6 months of marriage our families arranged a meeting to discuss the issues. But my in laws turned it into an ugly argument and even hit my father. After that,I moved out of the home. So,we asked for our jewelry/money but they refused. We filed a mental harassment case and tried for settlement but they didn't even attending

hello, first thing are Willing to continue the marriage?? if yes don't file a case have a talk repeatedly along with your parents. if no. file a complaint in the court, if police fail to attend only. as you said they didn't attend then settlement is hard so directly file a complaint in court.

To get your jewellery back, you may want to consider the following steps: 1. *Gather evidence*: Collect any documents, receipts, or proof of ownership that show the jewellery belongs to you. 2. *Send a legal notice*: Your lawyer can send a notice to your in-laws requesting the return of your jewellery. 3. *Negotiation*: Try to negotiate with your in-laws through a mediator or a common acquaintance to resolve the issue amicably. 4. *Court proceedings*: If the above steps don't work, you can pursue the matter in court as part of your ongoing mental harassment case or file a separate civil suit for recovery of your jewellery. It's essential to consult with your lawyer to determine the best course of action based on your specific situation and local laws. They can guide you on how to proceed and represent you in court if needed.
