They have hired a lawyer to be on the safer side since the complaint may become FIR and based on that they could even be arrested. So to avoid such a situation and to get anticipatory bail etc., they keep a lawyer. Since you are the complainant you could see how the whole proceedings are going on and whether its going fair or they are giving undue leverage to your husband's family thereafter for your convenience you could be in touch with a lawyer and keep updating all to your parents and closer one since they may try to harass you again.

they hired lawyer for there safe guard you do not need to hire a lawyer anyway after women cell you can report the police and directly file domestic violence complaint before the magistrate. to file the complaint before the magistrate you need a lawyer.

demand by inlaws is cruelty against u hence u can file complaint against them nobody can compel u to sell the house .u have filed a complaint before womencell and the women cell to pleased to issue notice against in law and husband hired a lawyer .for your information lawyer are not allowed in caw cell only in court lawyers are allowed

You should have engage a lawyer and proceed further not only on women cell but also approach the court. If he is harassing you, you should lodge an FIR without this you will not get the justice. Women cell just does a counselling between husband and wife . No fruitful result can be brought on record. Choice is yours. I would advise you to consult a lawyer because he is doing so. It means he has an upper hand over the case. At the end it's your call.

Yes you can hire lawyer at the time of counselling, n you can further move on his suggestion to make your case strong n to get desired relief.
