Can my parents stop my relationship

I am eighteen and my parents sent me to a hostel in my own city because of a fight. I have been meeting my boyfriend whom I want to marry and my parents forcefully took my diary and read about my meetings with my boyfriend. They are now threatening to talk about this to my college about this and raise a complaint against him. I'm a top achieving student and my boyfriend is 24 and working. How do I sort this out?
