can i get divorce without coming to india

asking this on behalf of a friend
she is in canada and permanent resident. she went to india for while and married her boyfriend in a arya temple and got the marriage regisetred under special marriage act IN front of magistrate. No one knows about this at her home. so after all this she know knows her bf intentions were only to come canada and use her for money and getting here in canada and want to divorce him. is there any way out for this problem'? and can she do this without coming india ?
