Can i ask for maintenance/ alimony if we have no children

07-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am a working woman, initially my husband was not working once he got a good job he started insulting and belittling and made me pay half of all of the household expenses and purchases and cheated into buying a vehicle which is on my name but i am not allowed to use. With all these he made sure all my savings are spent and couldn’t save more. Now he wants to leave me and left me at my parents place. I don’t have children. Can i ask for maintenance?

hi yes if he is earning more than you and not paying any expenses for the daily household then you could file for maintenance on the ground that he is not contributing for the welfare of the household and that you could also file for domestic violence case for harassement and obtain compensation

Ofcourse you can claim maintenance, and also lodge cases under domestic violence, with 498A. For misusing your money, mental harassment and desertion. Take immediate action. Not having children won’t obstruct the fundamental rights under marriage.
