Being a victim of domestic and mental abuse by husband and his family

I am asking this on behalf of my sister.
She is a victim of domestic abuse. Recently her husband has beaten her in presence of my brother. While my brother went to mediate was beaten as well. There were verbal abuse of all kinds. He abused my sister, my family , telling my brother that of he went as a witness to court he will make him vanish.After this incident my sister’s in-laws came and now they have started abusing her.
P.S-husband is non-working and has no earnings/property in his name

Your sister should immediately lodge an FIR for assault, criminal intimidation, and domestic violence. She can also file a complaint under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 seeking protection orders, residence rights, maintenance (if applicable), compensation, and other reliefs. Since your brother was also assaulted and threatened with dire consequences for being a witness, he should separately report the incident to the police. Preserve all medical records, photographs, audio/video recordings, and witness details. The husband's unemployment does not prevent criminal proceedings or the grant of appropriate reliefs. If there is an immediate threat to her safety, she should seek urgent police protection and approach the nearest Magistrate through a DV application.
