Cybercrime investigations can take time so you can wait for a few days before approaching the police again for a follow up. The course of action depends on the nature of the offence outlined in the complaint. If deemed necessary, the police will initiate an investigation by registering an FIR. However, if the police fail to do so, recourse can be sought through the courts under the Code of Criminal Procedure to ensure proper registration and subsequent investigation. In the meantime you also have the option to approach a Lawyer to discuss your case and take further action as they see fit.

Can you please tell me your location so that I can know your court jurisdiction. You should mail your complaint to DCP and thereafter an application under 156(3) to concerned Magistrate so that FIR may be registered and investigation may be started
