Alipurduar Cyber crime PS called regarding a complaint against me

I got a call from Alipurduar (WB) Cyber crime P.S. They said they got a complaint that I used slang through whatsapp against a lady. I informed them that lady actually used slang first against me and then I reacted. I have all screenshots saved. They were asked me to apologies to the lady. I agreed and they said they will inform me after Durga Puja. Now I am still waiting for their call and called them but got no clear status of that complaint. I need to know what precaution I should take

If it’s only a complaint and no FIR has been filed, there’s nothing serious to worry about. Keep all screenshots and evidence safely, stay polite in communication with the cyber police, and give your statement in writing if needed. Legal action is required only if an FIR is registered. you should visit a lawyer and share proper information to get guidance so that your interest is well secured and the police also needs to be notified that they do not hold the judges chair to provide dictums without evaluating the situation
