Advocate took ₹45,000, gave no service, refusing refund

14-Aug-2025 (In Cyber Crime Law)
I engaged a lawyer for arbitration draft/affidavit from law rato from chandigarh review and paid ₹45,000. He said he would take up the work the next day after finishing other cases, then claimed he was at a High Court function, and suddenly denied responsibility within minutes. I shared 25 documents (3,000+ pages), but no work was done and refund was refused. Can I file a consumer complaint and also raise a grievance with the Bar Council for professional misconduct?

Sir, Legal Drafting/litigation work typically takes much time to read and understand, also this work includes various research in case laws on landmark judgements. be patient in legal works and contact your counsel for updates on the work. If you're sure about the misconduct of the counsel, complain against him in the bar council for professional misconduct.
