But even though if it happened with you then you have to appear before the concerning court and check out your status in the court file that either you are really a part of proceedings or not and if you are not then any wrongful name has been implicated on your name if its the case then inform the magistrate court can rectify the error.

Just go to the senior police officer and ask him about all the facts. If he is not helping you than go to the court from which the warrant was issued, and show the magistrate your ID and tell him all the facts, If He is not considering your submissions than file the application before the magistrate to issue the warrant to the right person, If he will dismiss the application than it can be challenged before the higher court.

No need to worry. It might happen with wrong information provided by the accused or any other mistake, or it may be misunderstanding of delivery person. You have to present on respective court or police station from where such warrant or summon issued, please present with your ID proof copy with original.
