My friend has shared some csam mistakenly on whatsapp. What are provisions of this law? How to get rid off from this problem? What's the punishment? Can he get govt. Job in future? Can he get free after giving penalty? Will he go to jail? Please reply my questions.

i read and understand your query . this is crime under IT act and punishment for 7 year . if you can did it . if you can not did it than not an issue. Second thing diffenately obstacles will come in your future carrer

Any csam shared on WhatsApp does not require any application unless FIR has been filed. if the fir has been filed then we can go for quashing of the fir in the high court. for better suggestion kindly get in touch with an able advocate for your problem

Absolutely, sharing such content constitutes an offense under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, which is a stringent law. Both sending and receiving such content are offences under the act, and failure to report it is also punishable. I strongly recommend deleting the content from your phone as well as from your friend's phone, and severing all contact with him indefinitely by blocking him till ernity.
