Someone has cheated or duped me my money

This happened in2012 where one accused has duped me money but upon purse ence gave one fake cheque but eventually filled recovery suit as per lawyer advice in 2017 but didn't advise for any FIR till now . Totally clueless how to go about the process.

Dear Sir, You must pursue the matter before the Civil Court. Now you cannot file cheque bounce case at this distant time. However, you can try to lodge a cheating case against the said person and convince the Police about the long delay. Normally, they need strong grounds to condone the delay.

contact the police station and find the status of the case . find our case is pending or closed 1.if case is pending contact police officer and higher officials 2. if case is closed file an private complaint in the court
