If the behaviour of her husband is intolerable towards her then she can anytime send a complaint regarding her grievances in writing to the police station according to her jurisdiction. And if she wishes to go legal then she can also file a petition under section 12 DV or section 125 CrPC and claim maintenance for herself as well as for the minor son. And if there's no scope of living together then rather stretching the relationship she should file for contested divorce under the ground of cruelty. I would suggest her to go with mutual divorce because it's cost effective and ends up in a maximum of six months. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

You should immediately engage an advocate and get an intallah peshbandi application drafted and filed before the concerned authorities. Do also initiate legal proceedings such as complaint under domestic violence act and Maintenance petition for your sister.

You have the recourse to submit a written complaint to the Station House Officer (SHO), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in your jurisdiction. Additionally, you have the option to initiate a complaint case against them under Section 200 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). This step is advisable as a precautionary measure.
