Seeking advise on threat call after breaking marriage prospects

In May last year I got engaged at home. After a work trip to South Korea, the marriage was canceled and I was wrongly accused of aggression despite my efforts to resolve the issue. I repeatedly tried to contact them, even waiting outside their home. Later, my father received a lethal threat from someone claiming to be a local MLA. While I respected her decision, the threat is unacceptable. I seek guidance on filing a complaint for harassment, breach of trust, and trauma.
The circumstances under which the marriage got cancelled is unclear here in your query and needs to be specified. Cancellation of marriage at the most may result into civil action but giving threats is totally illegal. Yes you have legal remedies against the conduct of threat and harassment.

You can file a Criminal complaint with regards to the threat given. However for other wrongs, since they are technically civil in nature, the best option is to sue the opposite party for civil wrongs including but not limited to damages.
