required guidence for Fir closeing procsss

I have filed a fir at Gurgaon police station last year for my laptop theft and now I am living in Maharashtra Nashik. police are asking me to come to Gurgaon for a court hearing but they have not recovered any assets. is it compulsory to go for closing fir ..?? and what if I am not able to travel there

First the police can file a closure report or cancellation report to the court that we find no prima facie after investigation on that the complainant can file protest petition, but since the chargesheet has been filed in your case , so you can file a quashing petition u/s 482 C.R.P.C. Yes, You have to be present before the court and give a statement regarding the same. However at last, it will be your willingness and the discretion of the court to pass the orders for further investigation or to dispose off the matter.
