I have recd a call from police station for statement regarding sec 202 filed in Kolkata court . What steps should I take and how serious this problem is

Well, how serious the problem is depends upon the complexity involved in your case, which can be assessed after the scrutinzation of your case related Documents. Hence, I request you to submit your case related Documents first. As far as Sec 202 of CRPC is concerned, under this, the Magistrate either enquires himself into the case or order Police Investigation.

That means somebody has filed a private complaint case against you under criminal procedure code and the magistrate has directed police to conduct inquiry and submit report before it for which you have been asked to record your Statement.
