The said FIR was registered on your complaint in the year 2012 and the police has taken long time to file charge sheet in the court for the case. Further your appearance was not mandatory till date as the accused was appearing for his case . Now the court needs your appearance for justify /witness the said allegation/offence and that is the reason you get the notice in the year 2018. Now on the date written in the notice you have to appear before the court as a witness for the case.

Dear Sir, It sometimes depends upon the place of filing of the F.I.R. and the gravity of the offence described in the F.I.R., however if the document you have received is summons from the court then there is no reason to avoid it and you can simply visit to the court and mark your attendance and reply to the facts asked by the presiding officer of the court. Most probably the your identity and the facts of the offence and your relation to it may be asked. Keep calm and visit the court without any stress. Thankyou.
