NBW Against Accused In Mumbai Court

25-Jul-2024 (In Criminal Law)
I missed my court hearing today due to heavy rainfall in my locality, and my advocate was also not present. Consequently, the court has issued a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against me. Until this hearing, I had a 100% attendance record in court, while the 1st party never appeared. What immediate steps should I take to get relief? Will the police arrest me, and if so, what is the time duration before the arrest? Thank you for your guidance.

you can do one thing tell your advocate to mention a case and file cancellation of the NBW application before the court if court things fit they will cancel your warrant as you said you regularly appear before the trial court so I don't think court will decline your cancellation of NBW

Well, Police can arrest you now once the Non Bailable Warrant against you reaches them. I suggest you take an Anticipatory Bail as soon as possible before Police catch hold of you. If you get arrested, I need to take a Regular Bail for you.
