interior contractor not working against paymet

we have signed a simple paper contract for our interior work. he has not completing the work against payment, and asking for more payment without finishing the pending work. our all payment are through bank - having all transaction details. one payment by cash - with receipt- cctv footage. From last 1 month work is totally stopped, and continuously he is giving false commitment to complete the work (having call recordings and whatsapp chat record). Now we are ready to take legal action against him. please suggest.
you take legal action against contractor. you have sufficient evidence against contractor so after paase the date of contract letter you file application against contractor neatest court. If any query please contact me.
