Indirectly involved in the crime incident

24-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I had filed an FIR for an act of extortion against me. During the incident the money transfer was made by one of my friend, who does not know about the incident. Now the court proceedings are starting and i don't want my friend to be involved in the court process. His role is only limited to doing the money transaction to the accused person's account. I even did not mention my friend's name in the FIR to avoid such situations. Is it possible? Can a lawyer handle this situation in court?

Since you have filed the FIR and have not mentioned your friend name in the FIR there will be no action against him. You can relax in the matter however it is imperative that you should look into the case carefully so that strong case can be presented before the court during the procedure

payment of money against receiving a extortion call is the foundation for an extortion case. During investigation it will be revealed that money was paid and hence your friend will become a crucial witness in the matter. leaving out your friend will be fatal to your case. should you have any questions please feel free to contact me

It can be handled. If your friend had only transferred the amount to the accused account then it can be proved that your friend doesn't have any knowledge regarding the same he did on your instructions. Please note, here I am assuming that your friend has transferred the money on your behalf. for detailed information you can connect with me.
