Ideally a girl below 18 has her parents as guardian and therefore she is not free to develop love relationship and marry before she attains majority. As for you to get protection from imprisonment, you need not worry till the girl files complaint against you.

Well, you need to wait to physically engage with her and to marry her, until she turns 18 years of age. If you marry her before she turns 18, you'll be prosecuted for committing child marriage and if you engage physically with her before she turns 18, then, you will be charged for committing the offence of Rape, despite she being a minor consents to engage physically with you and to penetrate her. Considering, as per the Indian Law, consent given by a Minor to engage with her Physically is considered as Invalid and whomsoever engages with her/him is considered as an Offender committing Sexual Assault and gets prosecuted under the stringent sections of the POCSO Law.
