Death person vehicle ownership transfer.

13-Feb-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, im from Bangalore (Karnataka).I bought scooty on jan 2023 and owner(male) died 2020. I transferred money on Phonepe and While seling they took my signature on paper. Paper stating that i will be responsible for future activities and they gave me RC(death owner), insurance paper and scooty. nnAs per the RTO rules Death person vehicle ownership can be transferred only to hisher legal successor. But they have not transferred RC to owners wife name. Askd them to do as per the rules then only i can register the vehicle in my name. Now they are telling me that after sales and as per the agreement (written paper) we dont do from seller side, it will taken care of purchaser. nNow the problem is, the person(leaga successor) should be present in RTO office while signature of the ownership form. But seller is not willing to get the legal person to the RTO and he is telling me convince any RTO consultant to mke it possible without person presents. Please guide me with this nd do the needful.

Dear Sir, You may get issue legal notice to the legal heirs of deceased asking them to do the necessary formalities to change the scooty in your name if not you may lodge a police complaint and also threaten them to lodge a complaint with before Magistrate.

it is necessary that you should file a police complaint against him for cheating as he was not the owner and the deceased persons wife was the owner, either ask him to call the legal heir's and ask them to transfer in your name if not file a police complaint for cheating, but it was very much necessary on your part to verify the RC book before purchasing.
