Can an FIR cause any problems when applying for a government job? Does having an FIR registered affe

17-Jul-2024 (In Criminal Law)
Sir, I want to know if having any case or FIR filed against me could affect my eligibility to take government exams. What kinds of cases should I be concerned about? If an FIR is registered against me, will it prevent me from getting a government job? For instance, if a case under section 143 is filed due to protest, will it create obstacles for me?

Yes, an FIR can affect your chances of getting a government job, but it doesn't automatically disqualify you. While an FIR is just the beginning of an investigation and not proof of guilt, it may raise concerns during police verification especially if the charges are serious. Minor or bailable offences may not impact your chances much, but non-bailable or grave offences could lead to rejection. Transparency is key hiding an FIR can lead to disqualification, while being honest and resolving the case legally (like getting it quashed) can improve your prospects.

YES. CRIMINAL CHARGES WILL AFFECT THE EMPLOYMENT. THE PERSON HAS CAUSED THE PUBLIC NUISANCE FOR WHICH THE FIR HAS BEEN FILED AGAINST HIM. HE HAS TO QUASH THE FIR AND COME OUT WITH CLEAN HAND. THE FUTURE WILL AFFECT

FIR is nothing but First Information Report and FIR will not affect your carrier entering into Government job. After investigation your name may be deleted from Final Report. If the offences are non-bailable you have to face the prosecution whereas U/S 143 is for unlawful assembly it would not affect your carrier.
