CAN A GOOD LAWYER REALLY SAVE SOMEONE IN 420 CASE?

05-Jul-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi,nUnknowingly someone I know have violated a few sections of IPC. Sec 417, 419, 420.Everyone is saying, if that person has done nothing, she should NOT worry but unfortunately she has done something, so will she really go to jail for 7 years?nShe cheated someone pretending to be a beautiful girl from Europe but is in reality from Delhi, she cheated on Instagram. Her boyfriend who is an Indian from a rich family used to send her expensive gift-cards, she did not know it was a crime, she was just having fun (she is 27 years) but now FIR is lodged. Can a good lawyer really save her? Or is 7 year jail guaranteed? The man is extremely angry, so compounding is out of question. Can any lawyer save her? she won't do it again.

You have been misleaded because the 7 years jail you are talking about is the maximum punishment under section 420. No one can give you such a punishment. It’s just a matter of arguments and proved circumstances. Just let me know if the chargesheet is filed or not. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
