Attempt of physical assault on a doctor.

A press reporter tried to physically hit my white who is a doctor in a government hospital. There is a police complaint given against the reporter. The inspector of police has asked my wife to collect the CSR for the complaint.
If we decide to with draw the complaint. In terms of safety for my wife, in addition to the apology letter what else can be requested from the accused. So I can ensure her safety
Make sure that the apology letter is given to your wife so that it can be used as evidence in case if such incident happens in the future. If such attempt to assault happens again your wife can file a fresh complaint.

In first place a person like that shall not be easily forgiven without ensuring that he has really regreted for his action. Attempting to assault a woman, that too a government doctor is way too much. what situation this happened also must be taken into consideration. Forgiveness is not wrong as long as it is shown to the right person. Regarding her safety, Nothing in reality except, faith in life can make you feel safe. Life is risky and adventurous every second, that's the wonderful fact about life. If you forgive him, just forgive and forget, your wife would be safe. A csr and an appology letter would be more than sufficient to deter him to not to harm your wife in any way in the future.
