As a complainant, can I appear in the court through video conferencing

14-May-2024 (In Criminal Law)
I had filed an FIR in Delhi against an individual under IPC 428 and PCA 11A. Now I'm being summoned to Patiala house district court in Delhi. I now live in Rajasthan (roughly 700 kms away) and have certain responsibilities which make it impossible for me to travel for even a day. Can I appear in the court through video conferencing? If yes, what is the process?

you can file a transfer petition to transfer your case from Delhi to Rajasthan for your convenience, the process is very simple ,to change Delhi to Rajasthan ,an application will be filled before the supreme court.

Firstly you should tell the purpose for which you are summoned , if it is for recording your examination in chief & cross then you have to appear at any cost. For any other purpose you can file an application for exemption and can attend through VC.

Yes, you could participate through VC, you need not anything other than VC link of the court which summoned you, also you need an advocate as precaution to file exemption application on your behalf from physical appearance, even though it is not mandatory in the light of Delhi High Court Rules

Yes...you can always appear before the court by downloading the WebEx meeting app. The link for the concerned court in which you are directed to appear will be written in the summons only. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

yes you may appear in court through vc, unless you have been directed to remain present in person. also, if you have been directed to remain present in person, you may file an application for exemption from personal presence detailing your reasons for not being able to appear before court in person.
