Affidavit by a person falsely claiming to be Managing Trustee

23-Oct-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I filed a Civil Suit in Mar 2014. An Affidavit-in-reply was filed by Mr. X who stated that he was the Managing Trustee of the Respondent Trust. As the prayers became infructous due to subsequent events, I withdrew this suit in Oct 2015. In Jan 2016, I came to know that this Mr X was never appointed as a Trustee of the Respondent Trust let alone as the Managing Trustee! Through further efforts I now possess number of evidences which show that this Mr. X has signed various documents submitted to state authorities in the capacity of being Trustee of this Trust, which he is not. Mr. X has also filed an affidavit in Guj High Court in the past stating that he is the Managing Trustee of this Trust !!! Hence, it is a clear case of Mr. X being a repeat offender over more than a 10 year span. Under which section of IPC has an offence been committed and under which sections should I file a complaint to get justice ? Am I affected by Period of limitations ?

You can file a case against the said official for misrepresentation and perjury under the Indian Penal Code. If it is a continuing offence, you shall not be bound by any period of limitation. if not then you may have to refer to the limitation act
