He has ran away by taking 5lacs rupees he promised me to give it back in next 8months, I have transferred the amount online in chunks. Can I do something now

Yes of course. You may proceed by filing a complaint. Get your evidences in order. Online transfers are seen as valid. Cash transactions are difficult to prove. As a lender you may also file a civil suit under order 37 of CPC. In my opinion, file both. This is a common occurrence. Well laid case laws exist to exercise your right.
