At the outset need to go through the allegations narrated in the petition u/s. 156 (3) of Cr.P.C and the evidences attached with it, if devoid of merits then Quashing u/s. 482 of Cr.P.C before the High Court and if there are evidences then need to defend before the trial court

If you are the complainant then you have nothing to worry, if it is against you, police will serve you a 41A notice please bide by it and visit them and record your attendance it will help you in the court.

MY OPINION THAT the said section has a very important legal value /values, as because, this section protect you properly from all types of police irregularities , as because, when the matter is in that position that police can not help,then this section help you.
