What to do if there is negligence on part of the company

My dad works at the mngl company that is to do with gas supply at residences. Recently a house where the connection was not even started, it had just been established, a lady was using some other gas connection that was lpj and cylinder gas blast took place. She died in this incident. My dad is no where related to this since the connection was yet to start it was just there and she was using lpj gas. So is it possible for him to consider under act of negligence? Since the entire company is worried to never have had such an experience in 8 years and here any which way the connection was not yet started. And the blast took place. Now the blame game will take place that coz of whom it happened. So please just tell me has my dad's company to do anything with this? Thank you.
