Wedding photographer not giving album and video even after 6 months.

15-Jul-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hi, I got married in the January of this year (2018), and engaged a local photographer to take pictures and videos. He charged me 50% advance before the wedding, and took 30% more after the wedding. It has been six months and all he has given me is raw data. He was supposed to give me a wedding album and a wedding video as well. I have been chasing him almost every week and he keeps deferring every time. I don’t know how can I get the video and album. Could you please advise me what are my rights here and what is the best course of action?

you can file complaint in district consumer dispute redressal forum against that photographer. But for that you must have receipt of advance paid to him. You can asked for compensation for deficiency in service and cost of litigation.

Best course of action is that send one legal notice demanding the promise he made. Wait for reply and if no reply is given then file case before Consumer Forum. Most probably legal notice will fulfill the purpose

HI, there are some queries - have you approached the photographer through written communication. If yes then you can approached the Civil Court and if not then you ar erequired to issue legal notice through advocate and thereafter, approach the court.
