Law of torts fire caused by state electricity board to a firewoks fact

06-Feb-2024 (In Consumer Court Law)
Suresh is the owner of a Rangoli Fireworks). One night, there was a short-circuit in the transformer maintained by the State Electricity Board and the transformer caught fire. The transformer was installed on Suresh’s factory premises. Before the fire could be brought under control, it had spread over the adjoining areas and burnt down the houses. Is Rangoli Fireworks liable for the damage caused? Which principle of tort law will be applicable here? Whether State Electricity Board is liable.

It completely depends upon the facts and circumstances of the case. In order to find who is guilty a complete fact check is to be carried out. Who ever is guilty of negligence either the Rangoli Fireworks or the Electricity board is to compensate the party who suffered loss of life or property. For further legal advice contact our team.
