Denial of maternity claim included in old medi claim when ported

27-Mar-2025 (In Consumer Court Law)
Sir, My daughter had taken a comprehensive health insurance policy in 2015 covering maternity claim. She had ported the policy in 2014 and the new insurer denied the maternity claim saying that this claim was not included in the new ported policy. Kindly advice me whether the stand taken by the company is correct and whether she can approach the concerned consumer forum for redressal.

The insurance agreements and other documents need to be properly examined. If there is any deficiency in service you can approach the district consumer commission for compensation / refund etc. The insurance companies are bound to provide the agreed services.
