Bank changing Salaried account to Savings without intimating
28-Sep-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I had a salaried account in ICICI while I was working at Deloitte. After I left Deloitte, I started incurring MAB charges from my ICICI account but no when I enquired about it, they told me that my salaried account had been changed to savings.
But they gave me no intimation on this and all they told me was that it was your previous employers responsibility to inform you on this.
Bank has liability to inform its customer before initiating any deduction or charges to their accounts. If you are the account holder of any bank, then you are it’s consumer. They can not change the account nature without any intimation to you. You can sue them for damages.
