To report an illegal factory operating in a residential area in you should take the following steps:

  1. Lodge a complaint with your local municipal authority or panchayat -Inform them that the factory is operating in a residential zone without proper permissions.

  2. Collect and document evidence -Take photographs, note the dates and times of harmful activity (e.g., noise, smoke, waste discharge), and gather testimonies from other residents if possible.

  3. Approach the police if the nuisance continues -File a general complaint at your local police station citing public nuisance and safety concerns.

  4. File a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) -If the issue persists and no action is taken, you can approach the High Court through a PIL, especially if the factory is causing environmental harm or posing a health hazard to residents.

Dear Sir, Ordinarily, a garments factory or any other factory cannot run in a residential area. You need to complain to the concerned authorities that the factory is running in violation of the rules and regulations. If the authorities dont take any action, then you need to go to court. Thanks & Regards

It is for your kind information that you have not mentioned the area like mix purpose or fully residential purpose. As per DDA rule no commercial activities shall be conducted in the property for residential purpose. If the property and the area is residential no industries can be run, even no electricity facility shall be provided by the distribution company for this you may make a complain with concerned SDM under CrPC or you may file injunction suit.

Depends on the location, state, local laws & regulatiojs etc. If it is violating any such law, regulation etc, one can invoke appropriate remedy. One can initiate a notice to the factory and the concerned authoritiespecially by seeking actions against alleged violations etc.

give a return complaint and wait for a few days and if there is no response or if you get any negative response along with that you have to file for removal of the nusannce and seek a permanent injunction against that factory. it would be better if some of you in the neighbourhood join you.
