Stolen phone found by police and now they want me to appear b4 court

My phone was stolen in Delhi. Police found it after1.5 years while i moved back to Maharashtra. Now they want me to appear before court to dispose off this case. I didn't appear on two occasions. I am unable to appear due to my job. Also it costs me more than 10k for the return journey itself from Maharashtra. The phone didn't even cost that much at the time. It's not affordable for me now. Is there any way I can get out of this situation?

You can authorise any person at Delhi to appear and collect the same on your behalf. You cannot be forced by Police to face inconvenience and hardship in order to come all the way to Delhi. You should give a written representation to police mentioning your difficulties.

sir in that case you can issue special power of attorney on you behalf in favour of person who resides in delhi and also you can trust blindly rest on behalf of special power of attorney the said person will appear before court and release the phone from court
