Query about private educational institute fees dispute
28-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, I enrolled for a digital marketing course with a private institute. I paid them the first installment of 19000 and the rest of the payment was to be made later on i.e. 7600. I joined and attended only 4 lectures and told them.specifically that I won't be able to attend the classes any more. Now they are threatening to file case for payment recovery. But I have not even taken the service equivalent to 19000 and they want me to make the balance payment. Is this permitted by law or is it wrong. Please help
It all depends on the terms and conditions that you must have agreed upon while taking admission by signing the admission form. If you have agreed to pay the entire amount irrespective if you attend the same or not.. however I don’t think they will file a case for a meagre amount of Rs. 7600.
If you signed any terms and conditions, please go through them. Apart from this, threatening in any form is illegal and offence. You can file complaint with concerned police station. As far as recovery is concern you should be defensive. For further details you may contact me.
Dear sir, you are absolutely entitled to refund of fees and don't require to pay remaining amount since you decided to stop the digital marketing course. However for the recovery of amount already deposited with institution, you need to send legal notice for recovery of amount. Please contact us for more information
