31-Jul-2023 (In Civil Law)
My grand mother had 20 decimal of land.after her death the property stands jointly between me andy sister. I constructed a house on that land by taking consent of my mother and sister. I met all the construction expenses from my own income. After my mother's death my unmarried sister who is major claims her share in the property. We are Hindu. Pls advise.

Since the property is ancestral one your sister has equal inheritance in the landed property . The property has to be subdivided equally between the two . Of course you can claim some compensation for.your investments while sub deciding the property .

Dear
Let me know you are dayabhaga or mitakshara family..it will go according to succession ..whatever your mothers share that will be equaly partitioned than whatever you have invested in construction that will be also equally shared if the whole patt you r tking..unmarried daughters have equal share

It comes under civil law action Your whole issue requires various prerequisites to enter into the litigation...As your sister has legal right to claim her share unless there is proof of estoppels...
