Police not filing the complaint asking to bring witness

My name is  I am from  I went to police station for keeping complaint but police are asking to bring the persons who had seen while that incident happened for filing a case ....is it really necessary to show the persons to police for filing a case?

it is not necessary to show the person to police for filing case, basically police has to accept the complaint and then register a First Information Report and provide a copy to the complainant and take legal action

Dear, Though it is not required to show any eye witness to the police to register a criminal complaint, if the police is insisting on eye witness to register a complaint, produce the eye witness before the police if there is one. However, if there is no eye witness and if the police expresses their inability to register your complaint, submit a copy of the complaint to the SP of your district and ACP and request them to take action on your complaint. If there is no help from the police, file a private complaint in the jurisdictional magistrate court. The court may take cognizance of the case itself or direct the police to register FIR, investigate and file final report for proceeding with the trial in the case.

Hi In general along with the complaint, police will also require the other witnesses to record the statement of persons who were present during the incident. It is mandatory that all of the witnesses record their statement at the time of filing of complaint . Witnesses are not permitted at a later stage once the compliant has been filed.
