Non disclosure signed without reading how to safeguard myself

10-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
I have mistakenly signed an NDA with a startup without reading and the employer is not sharing a copy of it. This much is documented in mails that i did not read it. How can i safe guard myself from any legal action while working on my product which is similar?

You must have read the non disclosure agreement while signing it. However, you are bound not to disclose any information while on the service with such company. You can still ask for the copy of it.

A Non-disclosure agreement can be enforced only in so far as it threatens the business of the Employer. It is unclear as to what business your employer is involved in and what your product is. Generally employers try to safeguard their trade secrets and confidential information that you would have been privy to since you were in the employment - however not all information is covered in an NDA. Therefore, first obtain a copy of the NDA and analyze it to see what your rights are. Secondly, a defence that you signed the agreement but did not read is not very convincing... you might need more defence that you did not receive a copy or that it was conveyed to you.

Purpose of signed on Nondisclosure agreement is to maintain confidentiality of the Nature of work and you have signed it without reading content of the same

First you are not a laymen to sign without reading
You have every right to read before executed Document that you have not done
After Execution of documents you are saying that you have work similar to that which shows you are working against to NDA and ethics of employment
Company is paying for which betrayal cannot be done
Better resign and go ahead with your work
Other wise company had every right to take action against you
